RESPIROLOGY WORKSHOP: AUTHOR AWARENESS OF TRANSPARENCY FOR SUCCESSFUL PUBLISHING  -Face the challenges and enjoy the benefits!

The Respirology Editorial team and its invited speakers will help workshop participants to better understand what transparency in research nowadays requires from authors. This opportunity comes at a time when successful research publishing becomes increasingly more difficult.

Transparency in research publishing is considered a new key element to research success & impact.  It can be achieved through enhanced attention to detail and appropriate openness in manuscript writing.
We will present the views of journal editors, research professionals and publisher on the benefits of transparency, in line with international consensus on this latest recommendation for authors to help and improve research publishing skills.

Target audience: (Early career) researchers and clinicians with research activities

Main program topics :
  • Modern-day multilevel transparency in science publishing, Paul Reynolds (Co-Editor in Chief RESPIROLOGY)
  • Journal transparency in peer review, Philip Bardin (Co-Editor in Chief RESPIROLOGY)
  • Openness in Manuscript writing, Anke van Eekelen & Lieve Bultynck (Editorial Office, RESPIROLOGY)
  • Sharing research facilitates collaboration, Martin Kolb (Chief Editor, European Respiratory Journal)
  • Track record transparency: Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID), Chieh-Chih Estelle Cheng (Engagement Lead, Asia-Pacific Region, ORCID)
  • Clarity on Open Access publishing, Alison Bell (Journal Publishing Manager Research,  WILEY)
  • (Panel discussion) The reality of achieving transparency in the wider Asia Pacific region, all speakers

INterventional pulmonology techniques - Ultrasound diagnosis in chest diseases and ultrasound-guided needle aspiration biopsy (Hands-on Session)
Target audience: Providers of chest medicine

Objectives:
At the conclusion of this session, the participant will be able to:
  1. Apply ultrasound to assess patients with chest lesions.
  2. Apply color Doppler ultrasound in the evaluation of thoracic diseases
